MotoAlly Privacy Policy
1 Introduction
MotoAlly (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a mobile application for motorcycle enthusiasts to discover, create, and join rides, manage profiles, and use related features. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices. By using MotoAlly, you agree to this policy.
2 Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account: When you sign up or log in, we collect and process: email address; password (handled securely by Firebase Authentication; we do not store your password in plain text); first name, last name, username, and phone number; profile picture (optional), if you choose to upload one.
- Google Sign-In: If you sign in with Google, we receive from Google: email, name, and profile photo, in accordance with Google’s account permissions.
- Rides: When you create or join a ride, we may collect: ride details (name, route, dates, itinerary, images you upload); for joining a ride: personal details (name, phone, email) and emergency contact (name, relationship, phone); E-Pass / participation information linked to your account.
- Store & payments: When you place an order, we collect shipping/contact details and pass payment data to our payment provider (Razorpay) to process payments. We do not store your full card details on our servers.
- Content you upload: Photos and images you upload (e.g. profile picture, ride images, profile posts) are stored and processed to provide the service.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Location data: We collect your location when you use the app, and specifically during active rides we may use background location to: track your route for the ride; calculate distance, speed, and other ride metrics; support safety and ride-related features. Location is sent to our servers in batches and is associated with your account and the specific ride. You can revoke location permission in your device settings; some ride features may then not work fully.
- Device and app usage: We may receive device type, operating system, app version, and general usage necessary to run the app (e.g. network status for syncing). We do not sell this data for advertising.
2.3 Data Stored on Your Device
The app stores data locally (e.g. via AsyncStorage) such as your session, user profile summary, and pending uploads (e.g. location batches) to provide offline support and a smooth experience. This data is tied to your device and account.
